Editor’s Note

Overwhelm. That feeling when you can't keep up, that life will continue to get more and more complicated, regardless of whether you do something about it. I started to feel this way just as I had begun to work on this issue, and while pressuring myself to continue working instead of resting, I experienced burnout, and the intense guilt that came with it.

After giving myself permission to rest, however, I realized the importance of balance and taking breaks. Creative work and rest can be complimentary - things that inspired me while taking a break from working on issue 2 ended up being used in various layout designs: a scene from a book might have inspired the colors and fonts of an article, or the simplicity of an outfit might have influenced a minimalist approach to an interview layout.

This issue's dark and blurry cover might not appear to match the intention with which this magazine was made - to empower gen z with hope and inspiration. Conversely, it represents how one might feel in a world of global turmoil and injustice - overwhelmed. One of the many ways to process these feelings is through creating art.

Whether the medium of expression is writing, drawing, collage, or poetry, you'll find it in issue 2. I hope you enjoy reading/viewing :)
